Hi fellow Goldwingers

Recently purchased and put on the road a 78 gl1000. Ordered brake piston and seals for the front but the ones that arrived are smaller than the ones that are in the caliper?

The part number for the ones delivered seems right for the year 45107 410 006p piston and 43209 371 006 for the seal.

The piston that is in the caliper is just under 43mm diameter.

I am wondering if there are two options for the 78 model or if the calipers are from a diferent model? I have looked at pictures of the pre 78 calipers and the 78 calipers. The calipers are not from an earlier Gl and they look like the pictures for the 78 model.

Hopefully someone will be able to shed light on this mystery for me so that I can get the thing back on the road.

Thanks and merry xmas to you all.

I had the reverse of that on a '79 last year, and the online company wouldn't respond to my request to return it. So now I have an orphan piston on the shelf and one less possible supplier.
