carburetor top broken plastic

I picked up a 1978 GL1000 that has been setting many years. two of the carburetors have broken plastic on the carburetor tops. Are there any inexpensive repairs for this. This is no show bike. The repair does not have to look origional.

2-part JB-Weld Epoxy, maybe?

I have seen others epoxy nickels over the holes. Apparently good fit.
I assume the need to be sealed good though

I don't have a GL1000, but I've seen a howto on how to mold new ones. I can't find the link though.

Does this ring a bell for anyone else?

Interestingly, I'm not sure a good seal is needed. With the carbs on the bench and a shop vac attached to them, the slides moved the same when the throttle plates were opened and closed, on the carbs with broken caps and those with intact caps.
If you would have told me sooner I could of saved a buck fifty on plastic plugs I got at Lowe's.

A good seal on the buttons is essential. Any leaks will give varying vacuum to lift the pistons.
