I was on my normal 20 mile loop, narrow two lane with lots of twisties when I met a string of Harley riders. My left hand was up waving as I came in to a tight left hand curve. The next thing I see is a man and his wife coming right at me head on. He was still losing it to my right so I tightened up and missed him to the left. Just as I was patting my self on the back for that maneuver one came left of center about a foot and a half (that’s where I was by then) and I was able to lay back out and miss him to the right.
I don’t fault them as Harley riders but they certainly have a couple of guys that need to hone their riding skills.
I’m just glad I wasn't in my pickup, that would have been an unavoidable disaster.

Sometimes it feels better to way after you have passed the other riders. Road craft seems to be lacking with a lot of riders who don't spend much time controlling their road position. Over here it seems like the Harley riders like to ride the white line which puts them awfully close to the vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. One little tap on a handle bar and death and destruction would be the likely outcome for the rider.

Good moves Gary. Hope it scared the hell out of them, maybe they will start paying attention. But, I doubt they will.

I don't know about them but it puckered me a little. :smilie_happy:

Me too Gary and I am on the other side of the world :moped:

glad you made it, that's always a good thing. As an "experienced" rider, been riding since I was 12, I learned I had some pretty shaky skills that were learned from not being taught proper riding habits. I had to take the Motorcycle Safety Course, and it was the best thing I've done for my own safety as well as that of the others that share the asphalt with me.

Glad your okay Gary... if that had been on the dragon's tail... you might have met a large truck or 3 .. Serbs they have been taking the road too.. that would not be pretty... I have been on the northern PCH and there are a lot of folk who straighten the curves on that too..
