Hey all... Has anyone had to do any plastic repairs to their coolant tank. Every tank I've looked at quite scratched up and in my case something.. Not sure what yet until I reassemble that area of bike...
If you have, what did you use and how... I was looking at buying one but shipping is the killer for me to get it to Australia.
So if I can repair it I will...the need is because the point at where it's worn is nearly worn thru..

We have a plastics specialty store here, Industrial Plastics: https://www.goindustrial.ca/index.php/en/
Pretty much everything plastic, glues, paints, plastic sheets. Maybe there is an equivalent down under. Good luck.
Thanks mate... I'm currently attempting to whiten the tank... Then I'll look at repairing

What are your plans for that? I know that UV can clear up radiation darkened glass, but it takes quite intense UV light like a mercury vapor bulb.

For the repair, I'd just ID the plastic if possible, then go from there.

TBH, I find the damned thing almost impossible to see. Kind of want to rig an LED light behind it.

Hahaa... Yeah you are correct. I've soaked it in kinds of stuff and nothing is taking the yellowing away... I have used a scotchbrite scourer and that seems to help...

Yeah not sure... Tried pretty much everything at present.. YouTube had some ideas but they proved In-affective. Thing that has made a bit of a difference is scotchbrite scourer. So will endeavour with that...
Current bigger problems with my frame now
.. After spending well over a grand$ on it... The swing arm pivot points seem to be cross threaded... So if they ain't bang on the bike won't track right... So close to shelving the project.... Chances of me find a frame here in Australia are slim 2 none..

Hmmmm is this a 1100 or 1200 bike ..if so the rear axcle can move by the rear of the swing arm ..make the pivot pins not that important on tracking ..they don't adjust there anyway ...the axcle slides back and forth at the rear ..when centered right tighten the clamp 10mm bolt

Yeah cheers... 1100. So far with all my enquiries not having much joy even just for cleaning the threads... I shall persist..

On 1100 Joe? I don't know about the 1200, but that 10 mm bolt is there only to lock the axle in place after the big nut is tightened down. Far As I Know. There may be a slight amount of play in the parts the axle slides thru, but I wouldn't say that was built into it for adjustment of the wheel......or is it

Usuallu with shaft there is no adjustment... Certainly no room at the axle. 10mm bolt stops the axle from sliding out that's all.
If those pivot bolts aren't perfect the bike won't track right...

The 1000 bikes were totally adjusted at the pivot pins for tracking with lock nuts and all
.tje 1100 don't adjust at pivot pins at all..its screwed in all the way ..same with 1200s ...i track my bike with the 10mm bolt after axcle is tight the way I like it ..but I have to admit on my bike with the modified 1000 pivot pins and 1200 swing arm my bike is totally adjustable at both ends of the swing arm ..just saying I don't see this as being a project stopper ..the way things are done the driveshaft has to be strait to operate ..its not a big deal ..strait from the motor output back to final the movement window to operate is small ..im not sure how bad your pivot pin problem is ..but with wheel off the ground on centerstand it pretty easy finding the sweet spot
