Don't you just hate it when the magic smoke escapes from a circuit!

In this case the culprit was a defective left handlebar switch that had a "ghost" load between the left and right turn signal positions ("off" mode). That flaw effectually killed the flasher unit in short order.

A little detective work with the multi-test meter solved the mystery.

Are they all new wire harnesses and connectors in the pic?

Yes. that's a custom wiring harness for a custom CB1100f cafe racer we built recently.

Aftermarket part?,I bought a brake light switch made in China and it failed within 2 weeks then bought an original Alps switch and still going strong..
I might buy a jack from China but essential electrical stuff not again.

Mostly Japanese and German stuff, but who knows where stuff is really made these days.

Too true!

Stuff from China is doing what stuff from Japan did back in the 50's. Early 50's made in Japan meant it was JUNK, except Transistor radio's, & Cameras. Different now, & their prices have went up as well.
