My '75 was a great bike and only had 37K on it when I bought it. It needed a lot of cosmetic restoration, and a carb overhaul, as well as a new set of belts and a water pump, but the motor never gave me a minutes trouble. It did have a funny front end wobble at 40 sometimes, but so does my 81 1100, and virtually every pre-1200 I have been on. New tires and tapered neck bearings didn't change that characteristic either, so I just keep both hands on the bars at that speed, and I get no surprises. I fell for the guy who had so much trouble with his 1st GL1000, but it seems the first one of anything is going to make you a beta-tester regardless. At 5'6" and 130 lbs, the GoldWing has always been overkill for me, but I love them nonetheless!
Thanks for the trip back in time Dan!

Thanks for posting that, is was a good read. I felt bad for the guy with the problems, but at least he had a warranty and deep pockets. My biggest problem is deciding if I would like any other year wing better than my '83's (aspencade or interstate). They are a lot to push around at my 5'8" and 130 lbs., but what a great ride once moving!

Good read ...I love the discounts thrown in lol
Yes. It's nice to read a real review instead of all fluff.
