1979 GL1000
I just picked up a 1979 GL1000 (this is first my first Goldwing) that wasn't getting spark to cylinders 3 and 4. It has an old Martek electronic ignition in it and when I tested it the side feeding those two cylinders was bad. I bought a used unit off of eBay and installed it and that resolved the issue, sparks to all of the cylinders now. However, I think the timing is slightly off now and I cannot find anything on the internet referencing how to set the timing with this unit. I'm not familiar with electronic ignitions and I'm hoping that someone can provide some insight on how to set the timing properly? I installed the new (used) pickups at the same spot indicated by the wear marks left by the old screws but something seems a little off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
