Dryed out rubber tips on float valves will leak, cause overflow and out flow when first starting in spring if tank outflow valve turned off overwinter. Rubber tips will swell up in a couple days after tank valve opened, letting gas by gravity. Or turning and cranking engine over a few times to pump fuel into carbs, thus resultant valve tip swelling after a day or so, gives good float valve seal once again.
There's no one thing ..the stock carbs were never user friendly or tunable to any degree but a narrow one ...I eventually went to strait carb 2 barrel Weber to work on my highly modded oldwing bike

Hello. So I finally got my carbs to stop leaking. O rings were all either cracked or hardened. Thanks again for all the great ideas and info.
