Bought my 83 gl Std last fall and rode it 50 or so miles home. Running rich on the right side. Has 34 k on it but don't know if that's correct. Dropped the old gas out put new plugs , fuel lines and filter with new gas. Took some cranking to get it started and when I got it running it was smoking on the right side. Old plugs were sooty. Talked with a metric mechanic that is supposed to be a Honda carb guru and he said he would work on it if I could get new Honda carb nozzles (needle jets?). Says the Chinese replacements are junk and won't work. Anyone know where I can get Honda replacement parts? Thanks

This page you also may find very useful... https://motorcycleproject.com/
Mike Nixon specialises in wing, CX, cbx and VF carbs... What he doesn't know about carbs probably isn't worth knowing.
You can do your own carbs mate, they're not that hard to do. Take plenty of photos, do one carb at a time... And keep each carb separate. The tricky part is setting them up.
There are loads of tech tips on that page.. One I didn't know about was the accelerator pump circuit...
This from another forum but found it useful...

I'm using the (I presume) Chinese made needle valves and seats. Worked fine.

I can't recall if I reused the jets.
