You'd be surprised at what folks will spend to get that last "nnnth" out of a restoration. Would I spend $150 to get a couple of points on the Judging field? No....but folks with lottsa $$$, that paid someone else to do their resto sure would. Seen it plenty of times. If that one wing nut was the difference between a 98 point car, and a 100 point car, it's a no brainer. :whistling:

I paid $40 for a NOS oil filter(PF25) for my '74 Corvette, just to have it for Judging purposes....it's never been out of the box, or on the car, at this point. Bought NOS exhaust hangers for it too, for a few dollars more than a sane person would spend. Paid $40 EACH for 4 headlight bulbs....the end result has to be worth the $$$$, or you're just being tacky.... :hihihi: :smilie_happy:

I never have been inclined to own a trailer queen show car. I was a judge at one Vette show way back when. We were told to deduct in 1/10th point increments. Wrong screw on a door panel cost points. Some really nice cars for sure.
