after seven or eight years my old tourmaster response sc boots were wore out, soles shot and not waterproof anymore. I don't likethe look of the new tourmaster response sc boots, I think the pic's of them show an ugly boot and then I saw them in person and those are not nice looking boots. I had been wondering what to replace my boots with for a few years now but nothing really called me to buy them. a few weeks ago I was looking at some alpinestar ridge boots, they seem to be what I was looking for. I had not told cousin jeff my plans we were talking riding gear in general when he said " you need to step up your game and get some Gore-Tex gear! I went back searching for some Gore-Tex boots and found these

they were delivered yesterday but I only had time to take a 15 mile test ride with them on. they fit a little tighter than my old tourmaster boots and the alpinestars are an inch to two inches taller, I added an insole to help with arch support. they come in euro sizes so if you buy them order a size or two larger than what the chart sez. here are a few pic's and a pic of the alpinestar boots next to the tourmaster boots, the tourmaster is on the left

Nice looking boots. Are they steel toe? I've been wearing my work boots. It seems to help trigger the light sensors.

My current new work boots are a pain to ride in. The soles are too sticky and catch on everything especially the crash bars or any other metal surface they come in contact with. This can mean that placing your foot gracefully on the ground when coming to a stop can look like a slapstick routine

My favorites for riding are the Wellington style pull on boots. Soles are pretty much flat without aggressive tread. Where I work they must be solvent resistant.

I've never seen m/c boots that have steel toe, no these are not steel toe boots but they are pull on, no laces

m/c boots should be oil and gas resistant or they would wear out very fast. can't say how sticky they are, I didn't do a lot of stopping on the 15 mile ride nor did I use the highway boards

man them are some high priced boots... too rich for my blood . , :heat: BUT.... they do look good, and I like the slip on , and no strings to catch on anything.

Hard Yakka ( Aussie for work ) work boots and Tourmaster Hydra motorcycle boots which are excellent to ride in. The Hard Yakkas have reinforced rubber steel cap toe covers and aggressive tred that grabs everything causing me to trip but not slip :smilie_happy:

yep the price is high ( Gore-Tex gear ain't cheap ) so i'll be at henry's late a few day to pay for them. I'm in the process of upgrading some of my riding gear so far I've got new boots, helmet ( shoei quest, ) and over pants, tourmaster flex. the new jacket is next
