Ok so long story... bike was running perfect..had womans nephew help me put in a new ignition..and he dropped the screwdriver on the positive battery side / bike body(metal). I thought he may have just fried the fuse or two..I check everything including the 30amp dogbones.. nothing blown figured it was starter relay or w/e. Jumped it just fine and bike fired up..ran about 30 seconds then went off. Now I turn the key no lights or anything, battery tests perfect. I buy a new starter relay or (solenoid) hook it up...soon as I connect the battery I smell wires smoking..unhook battery and under back seat I see 2 wires white/red strip and green/reddish orange strip leading to this piece I have posted in picture which was smoking.. without this piece in..bike lights come on only when start button is pushed....what is this piece and where to get another one? Looks like a fuse? please any help would be nice. And sorry its sooo long.

It's diode (Honda part name - RECTIFIER ASSEMBLY, SILICON part # 31710-124-008) - you can get them on eBay and from several vendors including Southern Powersports, but I suggest you check ALL of the wiring before burning up more of it. Get the wiring diagram and go over it all.

Thank you! And just realized I may have the starter solenoid on backwards.......that would probably cause this issue yes?

Don't know what you mean by "backwards". It has four wires - Battery (B), Starter (usually marked M), and the two for actuating the solenoid. Maybe a few more depending on how it is implemented (red and red/white) for power feed.
