Felt like i wanted to mount mirrors on my Vetter faring (XS750).
I am cheap so didn't wnat to buy brand-new fairing mounted mirrors so just mounted the ones already on the handlebar.

Used 1-1/2" steel angle for bracketry. It was royal pain to put 6mm bolts through the holes I drilled to the fairing. I had to attach it to closed end wrench with duct tape and manipulate that cause even my small hands didn't go in. I don't want to do it again so maybe paint the brackets in place.

Mirrors should be rubber mounted otherwise it vibrates (maybe okay cause GW's engine is much smoother).

Here's the end result. It's funny (maybe just me) but now I feel like riding GW. So much nicer than previous clutterred handlebar.

Thanks Joe.
I think it will hold up. It is a triangular area of inner fairing wall where two sides meet outer fairing wall. It's strong.
I did 55 mph w/o any problem today. I will do some freeway riding in the near future.
My XS750 has been designated to around town shopping bike cause GW is so much quieter and stabe on freeways but now I feel I want to cruise freeway on XS.

yep there nice bikes i almost got one ...an 82 xs 1100 what a nice ride ...but like you said not as stable as a wing ....it was geared way to tall in first gear too ...i think they did that for dumb safty thing ....what a bullet proof motor the one i ws looking at ...

:Egyptian: :good: That looks pretty dadgum good! Simple fix, too. Thanks for sharing! :thanks:

Thank you.

I sliced rubber bushing came with my cheapo Tiwanese rear shocks to around 1/8" thick and inserted it between the mirror bolt top nut and the bracket with large washer. No vibration at any RPM!
