Ive also been doing a set of alloy wheels for a bloke at work. came up ok...his rims themselves had fair bit of rust but the vapor blasting media has removed it reasonably nicely. The centers can be removed and the Owner can have the rims re-chromed at a later date. But the centers are cleaned up, clear coat has been removed and ready for polishing .

I upgraded my gun, I got one from USA from a bloke that has made his own. has done a nice job, Im only working with 5HP so its a matter of patience. The new hand piece is quite nice, Jetted for 5 hp. Wasnt cheap by the time exchange rates came into play and shipping...this whole covid rubbish has really screwed things up..

A bit more work done with vapour blast unit. I got my 83 aspy carbs out and gave them a bit of a going over. Now for the complete strip down, vapor blast all the carbs separately and finish off with copious amounts of compressed air and carb/injector cleaner. This media gets in absolutely everywhere..
But I'm very happy with how my unit is performing...

Things are well. Mom passed away late October. She was 89, good run - hope I last as long.

Have an issue with my 1200. One cylinder has "0" compression. Working on a solution.

Found another '85 Limited Edition close to my brother in northern Ontario - one hour away. 37K Kms, inherited it from his grandfather and is roadworthy. Good condition. Wants $1800.00 CDN. Have thought that having a roadworthy bike in Ontario, 4000 Kms away would be advantageous as we could fly in - riding across the prairies and back would get monotonous after a bit, do some minor maintenance and tour the east coast. Lots to see so it would take a few years to see all. Laying up an FI model and bringing it out would be easier than having a carb model. Winter in northern Ontario so I don't think it's going anywhere. There's also a slight aversion to these older FI models. Mentioned this to my brother and he did not come out and say no to storing it.

Been home a week and time to get to work and get some projects out of the way.

Thinking your vapour blasting and such is lending nicely to a retirement hobby.

Yes mate... I've landed a couple of jobs so far doin it. If it picks up enough I could leave mining and work from home. I have a mortgage and a wife...and goldwing fetish. So needs to be a good oncome.
Oh... And I'm off on Sunday to pick up another 75....complete. Build no 295 I'm told... Been sitting a while so I'm weary of the usual problems they can have.
..

Oh and sorry to hear about your mum... Comes to us all eventually tho... Gotta make the best of what time we have left...

I know it's not goldwing stuff but it just looks so good when all done.
These are From a Mazda rotary 13B engine. Started of with a degrease and then vapour blast...

Test rode the big rotary Suzuki back in the 70's, it was VERY fast.

Seems that the rotary just had too many issues.

Too bad to, they had so few moving parts.

Haven't seen many of either, in quite a while

A few more parts done today. Some bits for my wing and other bits for my daughters VTR250. I'm pretty happy with the results.
Dry blast any painted items then vapour blast...

Started putting my daughters 250 together today. Small steps...
Painted all triple tree clamps, vapourblasted all for components, cleaned with copious amounts of compressed air... Fitted steering head bearings and fitted up the triple tree. Coming up nice..

are you planning on clear coating the sanded parts or what is the finish is going to be?
None of the parts are sanded. The fork legs were sand blasted(dry) and then vapour blasted. I painted the triple clamp with a really nice silver/aluminium engine paint from duplicolor. It apparently has ceramic particles in it... I gave them 4 coats and left them out in the hot Australian sun to bake it on. Then I have clear coated them as well. As for the forks I was just going to give them a clear coat as a protective barrier... But with the cour of the tram I think I'll go a nice satin black... Then clear coat...
All the triple clamps were vapour blasted and they came up mint but I felt it needed some protection so painted them.
