No problem, I'll just pick up a thread gauge, thanks..

Take the plug into a hardware store, not Home Cheapo or Lowes, a real hardware store. (If you can find one anymore)
They should be able to tell ya.

Yeh, I measured it just with a metric ruler and it looks more like 1.5..but before I buy a die I will find a old type hardware store to confirm it..

Hey dudes, I have learned something today, I really can measure..The threads on the site glass hole measures 24mm and the pitch is 1.5mm so I found a die online for $28.00, so.. I already have one [site glass] and really don't need one, but I was thinking of you guy's that don't have one..If I make one and if it fits the bill, meaning if it passes my QC test are you guys interested in purchasing one for like $10 or so?

Sure beav, I'll buy one.
I'll see about ordering the die then..I'm gonna make one for me first, better than the original, I'm gonna measure to the crank and make it so it bottom's out 1/16" above the crank..No oil hardly between the glass and the crank..That's the Littlebeaver way..Ha ha :smilie_happy: I bet ya it will work better.. :smilie_happy: I will have to test it and re- test it first..

We're calling it the wrong thing, it's actually a timing window, well.......it IS a site glass.
The thing goes in place of the crank timing marks plug below carb #4 so as the crank spins (running) you shine a timing light thru it at the crank marks .

yeah beav i like this ideal .....i want one...and im going to mark the crank where it will be best spot for the springs to be so none are squashed close when sitting for long periods.....

Well, I'm ordering the Die in the AM. I will let you guy's know if it's ok or if it's a flop..As I have not made one before, I will do my best, maybe in a week or so I can have one ready to post a few photo's.. These will be handmade..

Ooop's I should have said special timing site cap..Sorry guy's , I forgot about the oil site glass and I can see why guy's are confused....Hell.. I'm confused... :smilie_happy: Sorry about that, I'll give it more thought in the future.. I guess it's looking at those crossmarks so often made me say site glass.. :smilie_happy: [Braindamaged]
