'81 Interstate replacement front master cylinder / spongy lever feel?

The front master cylinder on my '81 Interstate started leaking & instead of rebuilding it, because of the scuzzy reservoir & the overpriced re-build kits, I bought a brand new m/c off of flea-bay. The seller listed it as a direct replacement for "80-'81 goldwings. Got it mounted up, bled it...

    speedo interchangeability

Is the speedometer for an '83 Interstate the same as an '81 Interstate? My speedo went fubar on the way home from work yesterday, but the odo still works. Found a speedo from an '83 at one of the local salvage yards & before I purchase it was wondering if it'll work. Thanks in advance! -DeansZG-

    another Michigan rider

picked up an '81 Interstate daily rider in need of some TLC a couple of weeks ago as a stablemate for my ZZR1200 and to quiet down my M.B.S. (multi-bike-syndrome). :mischief: Lots & lots of great ideas / helpful suggestions along w/ what seems to be a great bunch of folks! :rocks: Do a fair...
