Ok. So i got dad a new fuel pump off ebay, the wireing harness was too short to go up under the false tank. So i cut em and spliced in the old harness. Now it will smoke up by the handlebars when i turn the key. Triee changing the wires around still doin it.
Dads bike, this aspencade, idles fine. Rev the throttle and great reponse. But when put it in gear to go once you start to go when you turn the throttle it bigs down and dies.
So the carbs being dirty and all that would cause a knock sound? I know it has sat for long time. And i know carbs need cleaned and adjusted and the oil needs to be changed but all that would cause a knock sound?
Ok i cant really ride it. It barely stays started without choke. When i go to hit the throttle it just dies. Carbs def need adjusted. Smokes like crazy. Im hoping thats just all that crap burning ofd in there.
Ok. So how would.i go about getting rid of that knock and ticking? I did put some mmo in the gas and the oil. Right now the oil is not the 10w40 recommended in the manuel but 20w50. Its all inhad around the house and just wanted to get something in it to see if it would start. Plan on...
Ok. So i took the cap off the old starter and looked at it. Putnit back together and now the damn thing works. Lol. All that for nothin. So i apologize to you all but you did help me a great deal and i learned alot bout these old goldwings. So i got the engine in and got it started. Heres...
Yes. I watched a video and got confused about which way the chain is supposed to move. I figured since when i turn thr crank counterclockwise the chain and starter move thats the way it should spin. But ive been told that is wrong. So when i hook it up right the starter motor spins but the...
Ok. So if i got the timing set and i can turn the crank but the chain wont move the starter clutch even with the starter goin the right other way what is that issue? It cant be because im not getting enough juice because ive hooked it to a battery charger/starter and the battery in my blazer.
The chain turns just how it should both on and off the starter. Which is counterclockwise. It does not turn clockwise. The problem is when it does turn counterclockwise the starter cluch does not move. However if i turn it by hand both the chain and starter clutch move.
No the clutch never did turn with the chain. When i crank it by socket the chain and clutch turn. When i mive rhe chain by hand the clutch does not turn. When i hook the starter up oy chain and starter move. Not the clutch. Only time the starter clutch moves is when i turn the crank on the...
Ok so after all is said and done, once i get the starter clutch back om i should be able to hook the starter up and test it right? Or will i not know till i put it back in?
