    1977 Goldwing GL1000

Thank you for your input. I believe I have the parts you reference. I just feel like I am over my head with the bike. I really like the bike and would like to keep it, however, right now I am just throwing parts at it. Throwing parts at anything, hoping that you will fix the problem is not the...

    Ballast Resistor

I plan on changing over to E-Ignition, once I am sure I have fixed the problem. Did the 1500 coils work with the E-Ignition or did you need to change them again? Also, going with the 1500 coils, did you need to go to a different spark plug? Thanks again for all your help Jeff

    Ballast Resistor

Figured it out, the coils are only firing one cylinder on each side. Need coils, any suggestions?

    Ballast Resistor

I saw that in the service manual, but I do not know where to get the service tester. Is there a way to use a multi-meter to test them or is the service a multi-meter? Jeff

    Ballast Resistor

I received it on Saturday and installed it yesterday. Thank you very much. Unfortunately, the bad resistor was the result of the problem, not the cause. So, I am back to square one. It seems to me something is causing the ballast resistor to overheat. Any suggestions? Jeff
