Dyno is expensive and not as common as a local gas station. In order for the dyno tests to have any real meaning they need to be done at least twice with the same bike running a good carb rack first.

C5 has access to a dyno. I wonder if any of the bikes that have his ignition system were single carb conversions?

~O~

No I have not installed our ignition on single or dual carb conversions. I do have access to a dyno if someone wanted to make some runs.
I believe the dyno owners would be interested to see what numbers they produce, since they sell our kits. Going from memory a stock Wing makes 45-55 hp at the rear wheel.

What interests me MORE is to see how the air/fuel ratio might improve, especially under a load (we can set the dyno brake and give it a workout).
That was always the most interesting part of installing our ignition anyway....big improvements in emissions output which reduces oil contamination in your engine.

Horsepower gains for the C5 have almost always been 8-16% (some higher) but the gain in acceleration and air fuel were always the most impressive.
Does anyone want to make a trip up here??

I will! My bike has a complete OEM setup. I will ride out there and let you dyno the daylights out of it for all OEM results. Then, I'll even let you install a C5 ignition for a direct comparison set of dyno tests on the same bike!! :yahoo:

I am willing to be a good tester!! A sacrifice for the greater good?

(Fair deal right?) :hihihi:

I'm not really interested in comparing stock to single. More comparing the different single setups to each other. As c5 said also watching the air/fuel ratio.

There is a lot said about this conversion and a love of "it feels" but it would be nice to see some hard facts.

OK; so if I add a C5 ignition,I'm looking at an 8-16% gain in power....does anyone have a guess on what putting 371 cams in an 1100 is worth? 5%? 10%? Inquiring minds need to know.........

After installing the cams, my experience was a decrease in lower Rpm torque but an increase in higher rpm power and smoothness, i.e, less buzz in the bars and 'happier' at higher rpm.
After c5 install, lower rpm torque increased.
Than after my single mod, lower power increased further.
These 3 mods combined have proven to me to be a very good combination.

Although I am a numbers guy, and love scanning over data, when you ride a motorcycle or drive a car alot it really is amazing how changes can be "felt" when riding. I know guys like Dan who get so used to the same bike you can feel when your tire pressure is too low. I have dyno results from stock 1000cc wings but no 1100's yet. Running a single carb would really be interesting especially the air/fuel read outs.

hmmmmmmm i am close to getting ready to do a run .... but i see no way to finance such a thing ... i am very happy to ready for something like this even if i cant do it cause of cost .. i was very slow getting ready for something like this ...long hard winter and total lack of funds kept thing stagnant in progress ... i can certainly see how now just how big this can be

it kind of pisses me off that people touted as experts ... have claimed trying the single carb set up and with all there expertise say the single dosnt perform ....if these people were real experts with carburetors they could dial these things in and jet them to work ... but instead come with BS reasons why they dont work ....its plain pathetic that info misleads everyone to understand there some kind of discount to go single ... and it took determine people with not much background to be experts in fuel system to bring this to its potential ......to all the people who contributed in this effort and there were many ... you guys are the true experts ......

yes it is time to put some hard facts out ...... :ahem:
