From NJ to Ft Lauderdale, you should have mainly interstate travel, if you like that kind of travelling.

True, true. But I might head off the beaten path (95) on the way back and do some other routes visiting friends in Sanford and stopping by to see my oldest daughter and the Grandkids in Abingdon, VA. Lots of nice mountain roads up that way.

Send daughter the money to get the kit from HF and build it on your way down.

I would except she doesn't have enough tools at her apartment. Plus, I might need to use the trailer on the way down for some of my camping stuff. Taking the Vetter faring off and moving the radio into the trunk has removed some of my cargo carrying capacity.

People are always amazed when I take my full face helmet out of the top box and armoured leather jacket out of a side pannier, also the amount of storage in the windjammer pockets. :good:

My Wife found out that our 2002 Hyundai Elantra holds the same amount of cargo as the trailer!!!! (Maybe even more!) Now I am having a tough time selling the trailer idea............. :crying:

Hyundai Elantra burns more gas and is less fun to drive. Besides that if you get into backed up traffic on a bike you can often go around. Stuck in the car you are just stuck.

:smilie_happy: Already tried that! She knows the Hyundai has over 149,000 miles on it and at this point doesn't cost very much to drive.

(Darn, now I wish I had told her that I wasn't real good at keeping old cars on the road just like old motorcycles!) :doh:

As I see it, cheaper in the long run to build a trailer than have major Hyundai repairs.

Guys...Guys!! I'm trying to convince my Wife that buying a Tag A Long trailer is currently our ONLY OPTION! :yes: :whistling:

(See, I get the trailer I have been wanting for a few years, rescue my daughter, get a nice long road trip in and my Wife is assured it is the only way to do this!) :hihihi:

I have an HF locally here in NJ now! arty:

Well, my Wife is right here reading and laughing about all of this. She said to do whatever I thinks is best, just be mindful of where the money is coming from. We did discuss the fact that the Hyundai would easily make the trip and is obviously the least expensive alternative in this situation.

BUT, she is still agreeing that the trip would be a good idea if I want to do it. I just have to keep in mind, "Happy Wife, Happy Life!" :Egyptian: :mrgreen: :yahoo:

Boy don't I know it! It seems mine want to go to Canada in March/April. There goes any riding trip for me this year, and it is still :sensored: Winter up there!

We're doing Myrtle Beach in July, the Wing Ding in September and Seattle in October...I have to get my riding trips in around those....
