I have never used Teflon tape on brake components. I am guilty of using Never Seize everywhere though. Bleed nipples have a tapered seat and that is what stops the fluid from leaking past the bleed nipple. I don't know why they would use tape unless as some sort of anti seize. Rubber grease would work great and wouldn't contaminate the brake fluid if it was sucked back in. I will still use a little never seize on the threads as I always do when I have it.

That does make sense with the vacuum bleeder. I have access to a vac pump from my ac charging system so it wouldn't care about air leaking around the bleed nipple :yes:
 
1800 MC is in.

This is the way to go for sure.
Once I bled the rear, pedal was high and firm. I hadn't even bled the front yet.

There is very little room between the swing arm and the MC right there but positioned right it fits nicely.
Have yet to remount the rear shock air fitting, need a longer bolt, and the forward bolt for that air bracket won't be put back in because the MC is in the way.
I sure won't be losing any sleep over that.

Test ride this weekend.

There's an extra hole now next to the top bolt I drilled to get alignment on the other MC.

I'm not completely writing off this mc as not doable.
I think the lack of pressure at the pedal had a lot to do with this cheaply made mc and bad rubber not sealing well in the bore.
I would like to try a honda OEM of this same model but not for a while. Too many other things to do.

Where did you get the hoses that thread into the splitter block?

Well I don't know about looking great but it's solid and aligned good with the pedal arm.
Yep, a functional upgrade made with some serious thinking and hard work to be sure, but pretty... no. It's great there is an alternative now though! Good job Dan.
 
Randy, You didn't have to agree with me :smilie_happy:

Went for a spin and the pedal feels real good.
It doesn't feel like I have to put any more pressure on the pedal than with the OEM master cylinder, in fact less. Probably due more to this one actually working like it's suppose to.
Once I check over the alignment a bit better and cinch everything down I can call this a done deal.
