As my radiator is leaking I wanted to make sure that the over temp warning circuit was working correctly on Val. The temperature switch is supposed to read 47-58 ohms at 80c and 14-18 at 120c which would trigger the over temp red LED. The manual says that on ignition the LED should illuminate briefly than go out until the engine is Hot at 120c , as my check circuit is not working I wanted to check it out properly. The first thing that I made sure is that the LED works in the tacho which I tried previously using my spotlight to complete the earth circuit. :good:
The leak is getting worse
Controller popped out of its rubber holder to access terminals and plugs
The plug and terminal to the over temp switch
Resistance reading at thermostat fan switch cut in point
The radiator is leaking more!!
The main reason to check that the overtemp warning light circuit is actually working. <!-- s:(...
