I guess I just never thought of Goldwings as fast, only as comfortable cruisers. I like to think Honda has a lot of stuff sorted out from the factory.

So the C5 converts it over to a non wasted spark? What are the advantages?

Maybe check with Paul. You maybe able to use his high energy coil with the Dynas until you save up for the C5 multi fire brains.


Those coils can't be used with Dyna if I recall.

No it does not go to non wasted spark normally but can be in special cases. It works great in wasted spark mode as it provides 3 full sparks per cycle with lots of fire in each spark.
 
This is what I'm looking forward to. Them Dyna coils just barely lasted a year. Put them in rode about 1000 miles and they went bbad. Going to look into something else with three ohms load. Even looking at a marine coils. Evinrude coils maybe
 
Been a lot of problems with Dyna ignitions but Dyna has been very good at customer service. Only 1000 miles and their coil goes bad? They might swap you for a good one. Worth asking.

What did you mean by "normally and special cases" ? As far as I know, it is either wasted spark system or not, and the non wasted spark should be better and have more power. I have never heard of ignition firing three times per cycle. and it should only be firing 2 times per every 4 strokes on a wasted spark.

:0fftopic: C5 is programable so you can select multi spark or single spark. It is still wasted spark in the true sense of the word as you have 2 coils firing for 4 cylinders. :yes:
 
Nothing done to the bike today yet but as soon as I wash off the days work I'm going out to do some refining tweaks to a Solex 1 barrel. Very interesting carb. I'll start a new topic in the single carb thread once I have this thing mastered.
