The dodge tradesman vans with 318 to 400 engines were lean burn and very prone to burning exhaust valves like that. I did 4 top end rebuilds, my brother 2.
Unusual for a Goldwing to eat them though.
May be there were other influences at work on this one.

Took a sweet cruise to the dam today. The weather was warm but nice enough to wear my Italian attack fit leather jacket. Crystal sure is happy at 85mph.

Nice ride, Randy! The water level sure is low in the lake! Sad, but still so impressive! One item in my bucket list is to go inside the dam. Do they even allow that any more?

went for test ride ... sheesh this bike will curse .. this bike will run with anything out there ... this bike will tear it up just off idle ... this bike has a big game in all places .. im am so pleased

Looking good Brian :hi:

Thanks! Looking good is one thing, now to get it running good and the C% should take care of that for me.

Got every thing cleaned up, changed the rocker arms and shafts over from the 77 head to the 78 head, painted the 78 head and ready to reassemble as soon as I receive my gasket set!

cool william
yes I was, the weather was cool for such a ride. I got rained on twice Saturday and I had to wear the heated gloves and jacket liner for the ride home. my electric chaps don't fit anymore so I wore some under armor long johns, jeans and tourmaster over pants. I only needed the heated gloves for the ride there
