Damn, too bad it's on the other end of the world.

LOL Dan, thats just a hop skip an a jump from me. Now if I can just talk the wife into it and umm my boss too.

I would love to go... not far for me either...
nice days ride, except the boarder crossing.
would hope for a smooth cross with no layover, but living in michigan I'v heard all the horror stories about getting stopped and held up at customs.
been to canada 3 times in my life, and not once since they started the passport thing. not blaming cananda, I'v been told its harder to get back into the US...

still might try this run, sounds like a great time!

The border does not pose a really big problem as I have seen with all the U.S. folks that come out to this event every year. The important thing to remember is proper identification and that will make those border people very happy. See my original post for the link that explains it all: https://gocanada.about.com/od/canadatrav ... border.htm

Don't forget, if you're coming please send a note to me at [email protected] so i know who all is coming and I can make sure there is room for you.

Sounds like a great event,Ive read about it before in WING WORLD and would like to attend it someday.
But I have already scheduled all my vacation time for the year.
As for the border,Michigan anyways offers an ENHANCED DRIVERS LICENSE (EDL) that elimenates the nead for a passport if crossing on wheels to canada and mexico.
I should get one of those, there has been other trips where I was right up at the SOO and would have crossed if I had it.

JDEGASE, We should plan further ahead for next year and ride up together,I wonder if its the ssame date every year?I tend to plan WAY ahead.

WOW,looking at a map Im only about 5 hours away straight west on the big roads,I wish I planned this out earlier,It would be nice to jump on the back roads once into canada, still looks fairly direct, may only add an hour or so.

Dan If we plan this out for next year, you left coasters could crash at fellow members homes along the way as you pick them up.Or even if they cant make it,Im sure there are members out there to put you up.

My house isnt big,but Id be happy to put up anyone willing to make the voyage, even feed ya.We could ride out from here friday morning still making it there in the afternoon.

I'd love to go for sure... wife even says she would like to see the falls and make the trip.

the midnight ride ( https://www.mi-gmidnightriders.org/ ) is the fallowing friday and being near the end of the summer for me I'm always broke this time of year.
but it would be a great time for some of our southern and western members to join us!
the midnight ride is another great ride and I would also be happy to accommodate anyone needing a place to stay.
I have a big ol farmhouse with a couple empty rooms and a huge yard.

bell homestead tour!
Alexander Graham Bell....
sorry had to put 2 and 2 together...
this sounds AWSOME!

OUCH>>>
EDL enhanced drivers license... I have cdl with 2 endorsments plus cycle... 98.50$ and it aint much cheaper to renew.
or
Passport book + card 165$

Yes,I am with you on the "running out of money"thing.Mad money at least with the roof needing replacement and trying to get a driveway in and all, which is why Im hesetant on the Midnight Ride this year, but time will tell.

I can see with the CDL and all that the EDL isnt the best option for you.
