I have been working on my 81 1100 and have the valve covers off. It looks like the PO had a thin layer of silicone adhesive on the gasket. Is this the norm or just extra insurance? Thanks John
Ayup! :hihihi:":2imt4g4l]
Call it insurance, call it a shortcut, if it works use it. there's a whole bunch of oil in those covers.
Don't believe me? Try running it with those covers off!!
Just while you've got them open, fix up those tappet clearances. you'll love me for it later.
:hihihi: Yup! That was from back in the day when I was trying to determine what my engine knocking was and I was really hoping it was something as simple as low oil flow......NOT! No problem with oil flow on that baby! :smilie_happy:":2qfmm2h9]
