You could replace the fork sliders and brake calipers with those from a Harley and have all kinds of front wheel options.

The vast majority of Harley suspension is made by Showa. The same folks that make the suspension for the GoldWing.

I know for a fact this can be done. I have a close friend who has the fork tubes off an 1100 Wing on his 1200 Sportster. I put them on there myself when his got bent in an accident. The diameter is a perfect match. his sliders went right on with no issue at all.

yeah they interchange ... had an 82 the motor locked up... bought a 84 and eventually swapped front and back runs.. same size 19 fronts 16 rear iirc..... the magna all had anti dive front.. they used the new style Speedo take offs..for the cables..

I put an 85 Magna wheel and forks in mine. The Magna has smaller width spaced front forks , so the axle isn't long enough and mounts differently. The rotors won't line up either. I had to space mine to work right. The pics you posted may have been Star rims which were an aftermarket product like Lester. They still come up on eBay mow and then.

The main difference between the 82 and 84 rims.. see in style.. one has "x"s right before the room on the "spokes".. they looked like they crossed and the other had straight spokes like a box pattern.. with no crossing imagery... I think the discs are also deeper in mounting depth

first pix is off ebay, looks the same to me

The first order of business was getting the front wheel sorted out. The guy I’d bought the bike from had another big Honda in pieces. This wheel had a better tire on it than the GL’s 11-spoke rim, so rather than changing the tire, he just changed the wheel and kept riding the bike.

dunno what the deal is on the caliper setup, don't think it's original

if this info can be confirmed then there would practically be unlimited front wheel/brakes options for 1100
