Actually, this manifold setup is a kit that was offered in the 60's and 70's. I had one on a sand rail I built in '77. Corvairs were a dime a dozen back then. The spacer under the carb can be flipped to accept a square-bore carb like the AFB or Edelbrock, or a Quadrajet. They're hard to find now, and I lucked out getting this one with the old engine.

I'm still not sure if I'll put it in the car or not. I want to keep it stock, and the Powerglide tranny will need modifications to work well with this engine. A wagon would be fun, but they're so rare (only made for 2 years), I'd want it stock as well. Now, if I had a 4-speed convertible...
