I wouldn't condemn Honda gaskets but I do believe because of their design the head and block must be completely flat and matching good all along the surfaces. I also suspect reusing head bolts might come into play as well if perfect torque down is not met because of worn or dirty threads.
 
yes i am sayingthe honda head gaskets are crap on oldwings ..they are goo gaskets just like the cheaper ones ...the bikes run hot hotter than they should ...flow around the radiator is poor with the stock heat shields ....the carbs run lean ...making the heads hot ..with alky fuel of today they run even leaner than the cv design already ...the gaskets melt out ..and they blow out ....there only one thing smaller than the sleeve surface ....the gasket ring on the gaskets ...to me this all adds up to the wrong kind of gaskets to be running on a oldwing to me ...
