So I was just reinstalling the front wheel after replacing the tire. I had read over the torque values and was torquing everything back up. I was on the last bolt, the left side caliper bolt (ironically I had already done the right) and had the torque wrench on 22 lbs.. Crack, broke the bolt...dammit

Foot pounds. And scdmarx is right. I'm guessing it was an original bolt that had been stressed numerous times. It broke right at the end of the threads so Dan is right. Glad it didn't happen on the road. Just puts off my riding (I have ridden to work every day since March) until I get a replacement.

Bolts can and do stretch over time, especially on stuff as old as our 'Wings. Eventually, they will snap, and it usually is right at the threads. Still sux, tho.... :Awe:
