I didn't know this. We could use more of it today.
For sure, If a politician suggested it today they would get heat, things like "you cant start a trade war with China" or "It will hurt the American people' When in fact it would help...lots of chicken littles out there too afraid to do anything so they do nothing.

They always have to be different, now we have engine litres but we do still have celsus on the thermometers and buy fuel by the gallon..couldn't we just have left well enough alone.

When did this stop? Probably helps explain why Honda moved the GoldWing production back to Japan.
Think it was North American Free Trade agreement (NAFTA) put an end to it, signed by Bill Clinton in 94 if my memory serves me right, also was pushed by Bush 1 before him but never passes the house and senate until Clinton.
NAFTA, is why we are where we are, its why every manufacturer has or will move to china, mexico, canada etc, autolite spark plugs in Ohio was the first to go after the signing, a year after they were in mexico and about 1200 jobs lost not to mention diners, convenience stores gas stations ,truck sales ,equipment manufacturing and all the other support that makes up a factory.

That SUCKING SOUND IS YOUR JOB MOVING TO MEXICO. Ross called it, just like Trump!

That was a great eletion season, told it like it was and soon after Clinton signed our industrial death warrant, I will never forgive those involved, I believed what Perot was saying and what he said really came to be, People just don't think of NAFTA and the destruction of industry, jobs, families, supports businesses , towns..It single handedly did more to destroy America then any one act could have...Hopefully people remember it with the new TPP Trans Pacific Partnership, further destruction will happen.

I hate to get off topic, I had a 1984 nighthawk 700sc. To be honest that bike would fly.
I had it pegged at 150, for 5 miles. Cornered really nice. Quick enough off the line.

Not off topic at all, your right, the bike not only performed but I thought it looked better then the 83 CB1100F, would love to find a god deal on one.
