solenoid connector

Got my new solenoid, that I ordered online. I was away for a couple of weeks, so my son tried installing it and it kept blowing fuses. Checked it out yesterday and found that the connections were backwards, so I switched them around in the connector and it's all good now. Just something to watch out for if it ever happens to you. I also took my starter apart and cleaned it all out, it was pretty dirty, works much better now. I was just wondering, when I took the starter off, there was oil that came out, is that motor oil? I can't seem to find anywhere that says what it is. Hopefully we get some nice weather now and I can take it out on the road this weekend!

Glad to hear you got it sorted out. I've been lucky with my starting system, I believe the starter was probably replaced or cleaned by one of the POs.

Yes that's motor oil that comes out.
There should be only a very small amount, more like run off from the chain.
More than that there could be a pump problem.

Thanks for the quick answer, there was not much that came out and it looked like motor, just wanted to make sure.
