Alternator Replacement, Its about time!

Well Guy's.. I have started the process.... wish me good luck... it has set long enough so I have decided to pull it apart and Put in a Electrosport Stator.... Have started the disassemble process
I will let you know how it goes, may take awhile.

:beg:

There are some great photos of Hooch and its electrical trials and tribulations to refer to Frank if you are not sure of things and how they should look.

Good Luck!!! btdt....and dint even get a freekin t-shert outta the deal.... :crying:
Take your time, and be sure to read thru all of the threads here on the subject...and avoid any of the problems others have gone thru. :good:

Well No Pics Guys... But Good news... I did Get it tore down not problems found the vacuum advance sticky cleaned it with wd40 ... Put a Electrosport Stator in it... everything fit fine checked the belt it was like new was having no problems but did find the push throttle cable broke in the middle replaced that Got it back together it fired up ran smooth been riding it for a little over a week... at Idle it runs from 12 to 13v and as speed increases it increases to 14.5 going down the road... the guy I bought it from had installed a new Rectifier/Regulator I soldered the wires to the regulator and all seems good. I am tempted to put a headlight switch to the headlight so during day I can take the load off of the charging system a little might help at Idle... so I have now mostly cosmetics and to recheck final drive oil could use some cherrywine side covers and a left saddlebag cover to get the color matching better but will work on that over time.

So thats the scoop Ill take some newer pics of me and the old girl here soon an post them... Thanks for all the past Encouragement in the past... I am a Mechanic just never fooled around on goldwings but wasn't to bad just time consuming with all the little details... now I understand why they wanted 1200.00 to do it course they would have charged me more for the Stater etc. and I am more than capable of doing it just needed to make the time.

TTU soon All....! :hi: :thanks:
