ok here is my multi part question.
1st with a combined rider weight of 400 pounds and figure 40 pounds in gear what is the max trailer weight in the members opinions that my 1500 could handle....
2nd question except asking about the 1000
I'm not planning on any kind of heavy trailer behind the 1000 just curious on that one but really need to know on the 1500 side of things

I have read about 400 lbs total trailer weight behind an 1100 is pretty much max.
It will pull it up to speed, caution needed to stop it.
1500 brakes are much better though.
if it gets to heavy I will more than likely look at trailer brakes.
After all the years driving a truck I've learned stopping ability is allot more important than the ability to go lol. It really sucks when you get allot of weight moving only to find it no longer likes stopping lol

Inertia, same deal with four wheel drive, :hihihi: first thing discovered, stopping was a MAJOR issue!

In the winter time I shake my head at the idiots who think the 4 wheel drive there in means they can go faster. And it becomes a duh question for them that they have the same amount of braking ability as a 2 wheel drive and in allot of cases less since they weigh more lol

Not to mention their aversion to actually using REAL snow tires.

Take a ride up to any of the California ski areas, it is almost comical if it wasn't so dangerous. Most of us Californians never or very seldom drive in the snow, but we will drive bumper to bumper at 75 mph in a pouring rain, guess that's why our insurance rates are so high.
