I rolled 14,000 on the clock on the 1200, so that doubles the mileage since I bought it. In the process, I finished wearing out the rear tire.

I think it's going to be a while before I wear this one out. :hihihi:

I took the rim/tire I have off of the 81 and put it on the 84. That's going to be pretty handy.

Worked on half the carb assembly.
I noticed something interesting about the carbs I took off the bike and my spare set. I bet you can tell what's wrong with the pulled one! And it's the same on all 4!

your air screws jammed?

I would try some high speed vibration on them and see if that doesn't break loos the oxidation, maybe an electric engraver touched to it lightly, maybe spraying pb blaster will assist as well

My newest new rear tire arrived today, so I got the back end torn down, and the tire/rim off. Prolly swap them out Sunday. Still waiting for my starter parts to get here. Hoping they show up tomorrow. :beg:

Best of luck Joel! You might want to consider a long mud flap on that front fender. It might just save a tire or two.

:headscratch: Ya mean like this one???? That's been on there for almost two years now? :ahem:

:Doh2: :smilie_happy:

Not sure if I picked up whatever on the road, or on the parking lot at the shop. Either way, I seem to have a flat-tire-maker magnet attached to my 'Wing somewhere. I will say I've had the best luck, flat-wise with the Shinkos, compared to the Dunlops or Bridgestones. Since this tire only has 1046 miles on it, and the hole is in the center of the tread, I plan on patching it from the inside, and having it as a spare.
One other problem that is creeping up is that since I have had to disassemble the back end so many times for tire problems, all of the fasteners are loosing the threads....they're worn out, and now on the verge of stripping. The left side bolt for the seat is already stripped, and the thru bolts/nuts for the rear fender and saddle bag mounts are just about toast....but that's a story for another time/thread.

Got the starter rebuilded(brush plate came yesterday) and reinstalled, and the new new rear tire mounted and installed. Took the starter solenoid off and tore it down(again), but can't see anything wrong with it. Put it all back together, and it fired up with a boost.
Was going to install a Ford type solenoid, but I'm having a little trouble deciphering the 4 wire connector. That'll be a separate thread for that, tho. For now, I'll leave it as is.
