Well, it looks good from a-far and it's going to take some work to get it right, but that will be another thread.
Great deal! Will be watching for the new thread!

After I finished the head gasket job on the Gold Witch it was running and all of the smoke/steam problem was gone. But the bike was not running right. It has been a couple of years since the carbs were off so I decided to clean them out.

There was a lot of gunk in the smaller jets, enough that it would affect them. Everything clean now. I had bought the fancy fuel filter from Randakk a while back and they can be cleaned out and reused. Good thing I looked at it because the insert was full of crap from the tank. Easy to clean and I recommend the $20 filter to anyone.

Ok, got everything back together and she started right up but I had pulled the choke out and in true Gold Witch fashion the cable would not go back in. Cable stuck and will not push back in. Ordered another one while I play with trying to lube this one back into working. It's not working.

The bike will run without the choke but I ordered new cable and should get it this week and maybe take it out this weekend. We'll see. I've had the motorcycle 30 months and it has been down about 28 of them.

Very nice find. $500.00 makes me think the money i amputting into my old girl is a wasted effort, but i have had her since she came out of the crate. On another note ijust recieved my new carb diaphragms in the mail. So it is time to start reassembling them.

If yours is like mine, and all functional (I too have owned it from crate birth)

It should sell for quit a bit more than $500.00

The weather in eastern Ontario is getting better, still a bit cold for riding but I want to be ready. So I put the battery back in, seat and back rest in place, took out the blocks and got it back on the garage floor.. NOW FOR THE BIG MOMENT. Engage the choke and hit the starter for a couple of short burst and it fired right up. The interstate is ready to roll.......

Nice looking wing. You have a nice two tone paint scheme. What tires are you running?

Thanks, paint is as it came. Running E3s

Gently pulled her out of hibernation yesterday; check and fill fluids & air. Battery held a charge over the winter but required more cranking to refill the carbs than she could give. Had to jump start. Brakes are good, they sometimes drag first ride. Went for a small ride yesterday :moped: and taking it to work today, even though its a little cold (39*) it'll be a great ride home. Let the riding season begin! :music: :yahoo:

I rode to work only to realize I forgot my keys and badge (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!). Then I had to ride home and then ride back to work. Sunny Spring morning rides sure are fun!

Just look at that sunshine. Spotlight on that purdy bike.

Thank you, yours isn't shabby either :)

Not mine, but I checked out my buddy's new ride, this purty '05 30th anniversary edition.

I rode to henry's this morning and just before noon it started raining. it stopped raining about an hour later which gave me plenty of time to make it home with a stop to pay the phone bill. going to try and get 100,000 miles on it by the weekend, I'm at 99,718 right now

When you live 2 miles from where you work, it's hard to find a long way to work...
