Thank you so much for posting this. One time when having car tires installed, I requested that the Dot be lined up with the valve stem. The tire guy was bewildered but wrote dot in all caps. Needless to say, when I got my car back, all of the valve stems were lined up where the D.O.T. was placed on the tires. I was to exasperated to even say anything.
