1981 GL1100 Carburetor and Starter issues

Be sure that your "Set all 4 gauges to Zero" before starting the engine. They have a small set screw that will move the indicator with Zero Vacuum. .

    what did you do today

Daughter and I used the golf cart to pull a trailer around. Lots of tree limbs on the ground, filled that trailer up 3 times, and lots more to go. six acres of land here, 3 of it in trees, lots of annual maintenance like that.

    Slow day, eh?

I missed out that she was ill, but I do know the feeling all too well, my daughter and I spent six months at the end, staying with her mom on 12 hour shifts at the hospital..... when she told the docs to pull the plugs, she was tired, "this is not Quality Living, I want to go", she lasted about...

    Ridin the storm out....

I bought one of the 10KVA generators, 8KVA constant duty, I spent a few extra dollars and installed a Manual Transfer Switch on the outside of the house. Had power company remove the meter while I was doing my own work, once I had finished it all up, called them back and they put it back...

    Ridin the storm out....

I kinda fibbed on the Weed Eater, didn't mention the voltas, it is a Lowes 40V Kobalt, it runs long enough for me to get tired, recharges in about 1 hour That generator has Honda Exhaust pipe, close enough :)

    Ridin the storm out....

I will help steer things off the Political track. Back in August, I was in a Liquidation store and bought one of the Ryobi 40V electric lawn mowers at $20 ea., my son did also. ( no battery ) Mine has been doing okay for "small areas" of about 60x100 feet of grass. my son's machine quit soon...

    what did you do today

Watched a 1 hour long video on how to over haul the CVT transmission on my humble little Piaggio 250cc scooter. It is getting close to the factory recommended Belt Change, not a simple job on Italian scooters. .

GL1200 Engine Rebuild - Part 5 - Post Getting To The Road

Not much happening on the 1200 at this point. Heading to Ontario tomorrow morning to see Mom, not doing well so I want to get back before she does take a turn for the worse - she's 89, 90 in March coming. Been a couple of years since I was back. As we go forward, in these perilous times, it is...

What did you do to your Wing today ?

Ouch! those "didn't see you" folks are trying to kill us. Just last Friday, 2 days ago, I am on my last leg getting back home from Georgia where I had given my gl1800 to my son. I am 18 miles from my house, and I look to the right and see a smallish SUV coming up the merge lane from a side...

Good job there Ernest, I like hearing there are optional sources for keeping our old friends on the road.

Towing a GL1500 Front wheel cradle

Good move, I found a Tilt Bed trailer recently for $600 a real steal it was, the owners were moving out of state and it had to be gone within 4 hours, so the distressed price.

    Fun with Fadi

Have not totally given it up, the silver scooter on the left side in the trailer is a Piaggio MP3 250cc.... Dual Front wheels with Independent Suspension. I have ridden it quite a bit this week, following my son on the yellow 1800. he likes it a lot. The Piaggio with be my ride until I quit.

    Fun with Fadi

I liked riding my ST1100, but it was not very comfortable on longer trips, really hurt my back. I am currently in Dawsonville, GA where my son lives, I gave him the title to my 1800 as I'm not medically able to ride it anymore, and he can get a lot of smiles out of it for at least another 20...
