    Noob needs help starting a 1982 GL1100 A

Will it still make the lugging/rattle sound in first gear? When I roll out the throttle in first gear, it almost seems/ acts like I'm in second instead of first?

Yes, guys. It did idle, but when I hit the gas, it would lug/rattle for a half second and then liven up.

IT LIVES!! I replaced the 30 amp dog bone fuse with a 30 amp fuse holder and fuse. After I got it started, I noticed a lugging sound/rattle that seemed to dissipate as the rpm's went up and the bike got warmer. Is this normal? Indicative of a bike that's set too long and needs to be run more...

I got church tomorrow, but I may be giving you a call soon if I can't get it figured out.

Never did get it to do anything. I did remove the fuse. Where's the best place to pick one up at? How can you tell if it's shot.

Something OUT SIDE THE BOX...Starting with this ...82 gl1100

I'd go adventure/tourer style like a BMW 1200 GS. A little higher suspension, a little more aggressive tread tires. Ready to log long miles over highway or gravel!

It will do absolutely nothing. Will not turn over, will not even act like ignition is turned on. Where is the main power fuse located?

I replaced the fuel lines and fuel filter, and tried to start, but the battery was weak. Pulled out the battery, charged it, and put it back in the bike. Hooked the terminals up wrong, not paying enough attention. Got a new battery, installed correctly, and bike will still not do a thing...

    Fuel lines.

Thanks for the info. BTW, my dad has a sister that lives or used to live in Stow. Harold and Mary Lou Ruggles. Small world.

    Fuel lines.

I just traded for a 1982 aspy. It had the braided cloth wrapped lines on it. My question is do you have to go back with wrapped lines, or will regular fuel lines suffice? Any problems with vapor locking on old wings?

Trade engine covers for some passenger arm rests?

I took the drag specialties chrome engine covers off of the 1982 aspy I just traded for, and thought I'd see if anyone had some passenger arm rests they'd like to trade. I'll post pics this evening, but they'll clean up real nice. Thank for the help.

    Biglarry from Arkansas!

Howdy everyone. I just traded a suburban for a 1982 Aspencade with 38000 miles on it. Looking forward to putting a lot of miles and memories on it. Also look forward to learning from some of you more seasoned guys. I still have a 1980 Harley FLH, that is for sale, btw. Hope yall have a good...
