    Starting issues...HELP!

I emailed the company and they gave me the info to return the starter. I'm sending it off in the morning so we'll see if they carry through. If they do, I'll take back what I said earlier about them. :)

    Starting issues...HELP!

At work, it's not a hammer. It's a fine adjustment tool. Also known as mechanical disposition adjuster.

    Starting issues...HELP!

Thanks Mike, good idea, that bolt has some give to it anyway. Maybe I'll get lucky. I guess I have nothing to lose at this point by tearing the thing apart. :) It's either that or start breaking stuff with a hammer!

    Starting issues...HELP!

It's looking like my new starter is toasted. I'm getting a dead short from the hot terminal to the body. When I hooked it up to a separate 12volt source it turned but VERY slowly. Uggh! $85 down the frickin' drain. Thanks for the help. As a side note, you may want to stay away from a place...

    Starting issues...HELP!

Yes, I get a good solid click when the relay engages. After close investigation, I'm thinking the starter I bought is the problem. When I disconnect the starter cable, I get a full voltage on the cable but when I hook it up the voltage drops.

    Starting issues...HELP!

I'm having a weird, (to me), problem. A couple months ago I put on a brand new starter. Now it won't spin but I'm only getting 6 volts from the relay. The battery checked good and it's putting out over 12 volts to the relay, but when the relay engages, I only get 6 volts. I thought it was...

    Brake caliper rebuild time.

Well, I got the brakes done finally! I had mucho trouble bleeding them out. Just as I was about to pull out all my hair, I realized I hadn't thread taped the new bleeders and was sucking in air around the threads. Now the brakes work great... and my battery decided now would be a good time...

    Brake caliper rebuild time.

I'm hoping I can find some stainless ones at work to replace them. You never know what you can find tucked away in the back of the machine shop. :) If not stainless, at least some good quality allen head ones.

You got that right! I'm just hoping it's all back together before the weekend!

How not to load a bike...

Or Goldwing riders have sense enough to either load the thing right or turn off the camera!! :smilie_happy:

    Brake caliper rebuild time.

The right front caliper on my 'wing started getting sticky so I bought a couple rebuild kits to redo them both. I've been looking at the kits and the new EBC pads sitting on the work bench for about 2 weeks and I finally got some time today to tackle it. :) The left one went smooth as butter...

    Blacking out an engine

I have no idea what paint the guy used or when it was done. It looked pretty sweet when I got it but I've had it a little over a year and it still looks ok from a distance in weak light. :) It was probably cheap paint. On another note...Man, that is one sweet wing and sidecar!!!!

    Blacking out an engine

The PO I got my 81 from blacked out the engine and part of the exhaust. Now the paint is coming off in places and it's starting to look like sh*t! It looked pretty cool when I bought it, now I'm wondering if he used water colors or something. Uggh! It's going to be fun removing it all...
