Mesh jacket or vest for summer?

the part of Oklahoma I am mostly in is dry, the part I am sometimes in, is more humid. I have certainly done the "take off my shirt in the bathroom and soak it" routine. Was hoping somebody had some real world experience with those vests.

Mesh jacket or vest for summer?

a bit off topic, but has anyone tried those "cooling" vests? The kind that you soak in water and then it uses evaperation to cool you off? Yesterday we had our 30th day this year OVER 100 degrees. Needless to say, my riding has been slightly limited

    backfire

the only thing that changed was the mounting points for the exhaust 75-79, but the exhaust ports are the same on every engine. You do not need to rejet carbs changing out the exhaust, they are tolerant to LOTS of changes. You have several options. 1: Try to find a set off fleabay (but...

    locks vetter saddlebags

IMHO, never "oil" locks. Use graphite. Oil or spray water displacement products will loosen up a lock. However, the oil coating that is left will collect dust, dust collects moisture, moisture corrodes the lock.

    Kelly Blue Book Value

I recall talking with a dealer of "another brand" who had takne in an 1100 on trade. he finally sent it off to auction at a loss. when people ask me what something is worth I usually say, what you and the buyer can agree on! We all know that if we were to just pic up an early wing, we can...

    carbs

dan is on target... cannot go at speed almost always means "ain't getting gas at speed" so you have to look at a differential for that. plugged jets, stuck cv slides (although that usually is a feeling of mising will cruising at speed) not enough fuel to carbs.... (pump not working well...

    Cycle insurance.

actually, you can do quite a bit of damage to another person, and it doesn't take much to have a lot of liability. And if you are dead, your estate is still liable (which if you have a spouse....). I have a friend who went down in a mc accident (not his fault), helicopter lifted out, 5 or 6...

    Rear Caliper Rebuild

I have wrapped them with a shop rag as well. They do come out with great alacrity. The last time I did a rear on an 1000, I had trouble with the main side. I finally put the seal between the two sides hole back, held it with a clamp, and then blew air into the line opening and "POP"

    Odometer issues(Updated-fubar)

the speedo on a 78-9 wing only goes to 140 and has that black face (75-77 was green) so what you have may have been off a 78-9 wing

    Rat Bike...ewww

in either case, it is clear those bikes have been ridden I have heard it is not dying with the most toys, but dying with the most wore-out toys

UPDATE : Safety done and sound all good. Just a couple little thing.

a normal auto shop cannot lathe turn your rotors without screwing them up, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who can. what you can do is have them machine ground. Once again you have to find someone who is familar with doing it, but there are people out there who do it and do it...
