Good thought on the alternator. Would that be an internal external alternator? I did the carb work using Randakk's intake manifolds. His site goes into pretty exhaustive detail on the conversion. So far, I'm happy with them. The linkage was a bit fiddly to get set up, but it's rock solid...

Pictures!! Thinking more about the external alternator mod, it looks like someone put a carb in the way! Oh well, always other things to do, like finish the front fender. It's been in the current "temporary fix" mode for 8 months now. I also just picked up a cheap seat from ebay...

    CGW Midwest MEET 2012 AUGUST

I liked the celeb pictures in the old hotel. Howard Hughes landing his Ford Trimotor at the nearby airfield really stood out to me.

Never been to French Lick before? Home of world famous hot springs. Some of the worlds best hotels/resorts/spas of the 1930s were in French Lick. Also home of Larry Bird. A quick google answered my question, the West Badin dome restoration is done and now a casino!!

Are we going to be offered discount rates at the spa and resort? I was there 15 years ago and was really nice then. How is the West Baden dome coming along?

True that. I had a set on the front end of a '36 Ford streetrod in the distant past. On another subject, I'm still being told no URL postings (pics) before the 5th post. This is post 6. What do I need to do to get cleared?

And for lack of a more appropriate thing to say, I want to add that I really like pie!

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Darkside would have huge advanges for me since the rig is 100% hack. But the clearances are really tight so tire selection will be an issue, even if I get a custom wheel laced up. I haven't abandoned the project, but its on the back burner.

I'll post some pics once I hit my magic 5th post. I started a build thread on advrider, but kind of lost enthusiam for keeping pics updated. I try to avoid going to advrider any more. Too much temptation to quit my job, buy a GS, and take a RTW tour. I really admire those who do, however.

Greetings all! New member here but long time winger and longer time biker. Current wing ride is a '77 Gl1000 pulling a Velorex 562 sidecar. The wing is far from stock with a leading link front end, Randakk dual Weber carbs, and on and on and on. Just wanted to stop by and say hello. 'alp
