Gas mileage with the single carb set-up(s)

I'm in north san diego county and use no heat on my set up. I can say that 1\4 turn on my idle mixture screw made the difference between off-idle dead spot and no dead spot in throttle response.( just got to find the sweet spot ) can't say what heat would do as I haven't tried it. idle between...

    Single carb video's, post yours

yes still checking out the go pro. first time I used waterproof back, less wind noise but also less engine sound so this time I did use the vented door. Still not what I was hoping for. I'll keep experimenting. I think I mostly run the bike in between 4,000 and 6,000 r.p.m. I think the early...

    low compression ideas/help

breather is routed up to air filter like a car from the 70's with its own filter and then back into intake. using more oil than seems logical, right now if I remember,( I have it written down out in the garage ) just under a qt. per 500 miles. I know there should either be a constant cloud of...

    front tire wear

thanks. all good answers. I'll check fork height as I did put the 78 front end on this 76. new bearings but will check axle clamp bolts. I think slabghost might be on to a legitimate scenario with the tighter right turn thing. I'll keep an eye on it. dave

    front tire wear

It seems like the right side of my front tire is wearing ever so slightly more than the left side. If it's not my imagination, what might be the cause of this? :headscratch: thanks as always for any info, dave

Over all I get a pretty accurate average that way however I add atf after fuel as I dont know how much fuel it is going to...
