Great, thanks! What happened to yours? The other half of mine looks just like that.

New Project - Haven't been on in a while.

Interesting idea with the 1200 engine - didn't think of that. I'll likely pull as much off of the block as I can and get rid of the waste. Thanks for that eBay link - I actually know someone with the same name as that seller on another forum.

New Project - Haven't been on in a while.

Hi Folks, I haven't been on the site in a while as I've been working on other bikes. I just picked up a new GL project a few weeks ago which brought me back here looking for parts and info. It's a very neglected 83 GL1100. It has a lot of options and some stuff is in OK shape, though the...

    Motion Pro clutch cable review.

I've only had one experience with a Motion Pro clutch cable, but it will be my only experience. Ever. Granted, I'm probably some anomaly and 99.99% of them are great, but I received that ONE cable. I just installed it and was out for the first ride. Everything was seated and adjusted as it...

    clogged acelerator pump outlets

Here is the best way I've found to do it: squirt a bit of aerosol carb cleaner into the fuel inlet for the accelerator pump circuit for that carburetor. I used a good vacuum pump (set to "pressure" iso "vacuum") and slipped the hose over the metal tube which goes into the inlet hole. The idea...

    What's in a username?

Thank you! "c'mon START" is what I used to yell at one of my first motorcycles. I learned so much from that bike!

It's official. She has a new home!

It is a plexifairing. It worked well and served it's purpose. It sure made riding in cold weather much easier. But, now having a real fairing on my '81 I can see the real one is much more effective.

It's official. She has a new home!

The '77 was loaded up and taken to her new home in Maine yesterday. It's a very sad day when I'm down to one bike!

Fresh heads, old motor. What would YOU do? Help me decide

My dear wife put up with motorcycle parts scattered throughout our first apartment. She was great! Now they are all confined to my shop and barn.

    type of oil for a 1983 gl100I

Come on now.. Everyone knows Mobile 1 motorcycle synthetic is the ONLY acceptable oil to use. Except during a full moon when you should use Rotella.

    cycle won't start

From what I'm reading it sounds like the bike is having trouble cranking over. It cranks a couple times and stops, but appears to have decent voltage. Test the battery with a voltmeter to make sure it's above 12 to be sure, but it sure sounds like a bad starter.
