    GWRRA

I'm not a member of the GWRRA. Just not my thing but am glad there is something available to those that enjoy it. I like riding too much and they seem to have too many rules when they do ride. Have been to the Ding once and other than the vendors, nothing there to get me back. I know its...

    Seat Pans and Covers

In my quest to bring my 78 back to original/stock/nekked, I'm looking to replace my touring seat (see below) with one that more closely resembles the original seat. On the bottom of the current seat pan, is a sticker that says "Corbin Sentry" on it. I'm guessing that the foam currently...

    Side Cover cables (78 or 79 GL1000)

Looking for the cables with that stop the upper side covers from swinging all the way down on to the carbs when they are opened up. Also looking for the pins (2 per side) that secure the bottom of these covers that allow the cover to rotate open. Need both sides. Most of these pieces may have...

To tube, or not to tube....that is the question

Thanks guys. If memory serves me correctly, back in 78 when I had my first GL, tubeless tires were not well received and lots of folks used tubes with their Bridgestones and Continentals. Even though the tires had "tubeless" stamped on the sidewall. I guess old habits were hard to break and...

To tube, or not to tube....that is the question

78 GL1000 with Comstar wheels. I'm replacing the xx year old tires with new and want to know if I need to use tubes. Randakks web site says yes for all GL1000 but is it really necessary with the Comstar wheels? It looks like the current tires do not have tubes but as I recall, Honda delivered...

Wanted - 78GL1000 Headlight Retaining rings (Bucket forward)

Be careful, 78 and 79 are unique. I've seen some out there too and even when advertised as 78-79, they were not.

Wanted - 78GL1000 Headlight Retaining rings (Bucket forward)

Looking for the two pieces that are removed from the Stock headlight when a Vetter fairing is installed. There is an inner ring and an outer ring. I do NOT need the black headlight bucket.

Ebay has 3 individual trunks on there right now. There are also a couple of combos with bags too. Do a search on "Vetter Trunk"

Yes, I have the entire suite including the trunk and the lowers and the cyclesound (with 8 track!). I'm going to restore these also just to have if I decide to put the touring package back on. But thanks for asking. I'm amazed the stuff you can still find! One thing that seems to be hard to...

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. Took the time today to strip off the fairing, bags, support brackets, pod support shelter, and battery box. More to come off tomorrow and those to the powder coaters on Monday. The more I took off, the more I liked it. I'm leaning more towards the...
