I'm trying to get my 81 GL1100 ready for the road. The mufflers had to have patches welded on and because 1 baffle was rotted out I replaced them on both sides so they would be the same. Had the bike running today and noticed the right muffler was hotter and louder. What should I be looking at...

:laptop: Last night under 'muffler' I found a video dated 2009 by mcgovern61 about using universal HD baffles to repair stock Goldwing mufflers. Has anyone out there done this? Any info such as baffle size and parts source would be appreciated, Steve. :thanks:

:help: My 81 Goldwing has a loud muffler; sounds like the baffle has rusted out. My question is this; can I accurately adjust my carbs with a vacuum guage with 1 bad muffler or do I need to replace/repair the exhaust system before I synch. the carbs? Any thoughts would be appreciated, Steve
