    Looking for some advice.

I finally managed to get my crate shipped to Ireland. I collected it last thursday. It is a long story that I wish to forget. I want to say a big thank you to all of you that replied to this thread and I know that is was not possible for anyone to physically help, but kind words and advice are...

    Looking for some advice.

I have a dilemma, and it is wrecking my head at the moment. Last year I bought a 1976 GL1000LTD. I bought it from a Canadian who had decided to retire and move to Florida where he had a house. He had 2 bikes, but one had to go, so he decided to sell the LTD. I agreed to buy it from him. I was...

    Hello

Now that is a magnificent specimen. The bike I mean. I have a '75 myself in the same colour, but nowhere near as nice as yours. I am doing some work on her at the moment, but she will never look as good as yours.

Love that ZZ Top stuff. I am always amused by the fact that the guy without the beard, his surname is Beard.

    Greetings from Hoosier land

What an absolutely wonderful family picture. The only ones not smiling are the younger and the more senior. Family get togethers must be very special in your house.

    I'm new to this forum.

I know it is not relevant to you guys over there, I pay €385 for 5 bikes on a combined policy which gives comprehensive cover for all and breakdown recovery cover for Europe.

GL1200 Standard back from the abyss....

That thing under the radiator filler cap is the road tax disc. I am not sure Brian why they were changed or why she was repainted.

GL1200 Standard back from the abyss....

It could well be. I didn't buy anyway. Front and rear hardware were wrong. Rear grabrail gone. Try finding one of those. Somebody painted her that red colour. It is a nice red, but not the right red. 1200 Standard was sold in only 2 colours, Black or Wineberry red.

    Seized engine!

Certainly someone in the past has either replaced the stator or maybe they extended the leads. I always figured them to be too darn short, an inch longer would have made all the difference. Your choice between putting your back cover on or leaving it as it is, is an interesting one. Was your...
