    Fuel in oil

A classic stuck float valve symptom. Can be a bit of grit or munge from corn gas.

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

I closed the deal today - the trike mod is mine. Bought it from another member here!

    That's a half-hour from me.

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

Thanks Skiri. I won't be doing the mod because I only intend to run triked in the cold weather and go back to sweetly carved turn in the Spring!

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

THIS WAS DEFINATELY SOMETHING UNUSUAL - there were OPP in every turnoff and layby and not one donut in sight - on my back-trip the first time I did see about 16 same model rice cars all in a line on the shoulder near the east end of the twisties - all with after market rear spoilers installed...

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

I did it twice today with the Contour mounted on my side fender - BOTH TIMES I screwed up with the camera and got no footage - bugger. Guess I am just going to have to do it again Tuesday afternoon - only day this week when no rain is forcast. The OPP were at every turnoff all along the road...

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

Just came back from running the 'Forks of the Credit' twisties. The roads were wet and covered with leaves so I was glad to have the outriggers but there is no way to hold anywhere near the speed that is possible with 2 wheels. I have tried in the garage and there is no ay I can tip the bike...

    DIY 'Tow Pac' Trike Mod

Have a DIY trike mod installed on my GL1200 on loan for assessment to purchase. It seems to be a quality build and the builder and I are forging a friendship over it. For those that followed my Jello post, his was the other bike. A good guy. As an "I love the leanines" biker - a trike is not...

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

For the little amount of time it takes, you might as well. I torqued the brace bolts to 23 ft-lbs on a guess (couldn't find it spec'd anywhere) and that didn't feel like it was about to strip so it should be pretty safe.

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

Another glorious day of no butt suction holding me onto the seat! Stopped of at my new buddies place on the way home and passed the cure info on to him too - he has been so frustrated with his that he bought a Suzi Boulevard and has been trying to sell his '86 Aspencade. He climbed on mine...

    GL1200 Front Fork Seals (Help)

I think it is the way the darn manual is written - disassembles the fork then talks of seal change. Several have reported methods to go straight to seal change w/o the disassembly. I like that!

    GL1200 Front Fork Seals (Help)

Left hand presses down and sets alignment while the right turns the rachet handle.

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

On my ride to/from work today I nearly died - the grin on my face was soooo big it was like a ram-air scoop and I almost couldn't breathe out! It was like riding a completely different scoot - I hadn't realized that I was actually having the problem at all speeds and that the eratic wandering...

    GL1200 Front Fork Seals (Help)

Then I suppose that you add the new oil through where the seal fits before you replace the seal?

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

I agree - that 0.010" is nothing that concerns me.

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

Update: Here is what I just finished doing and verifying 1) verified the caliper-bracket to disk gap was over 0.028" - feeler gauges were loose (so much so that I was wondering if I was checking the right place - no pictures in my manual) 2) axle holders are on with arrows forward, no gap at...

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

I have found the line in my manual that references the space check - it is now highlited! I will do a check as it is now. Thanks guys.

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

Oh oh - if I answer "what kit?" does that answer you? I just did up the top end then set the forks down on the axle slightly and did up the clamps. I didn't see anything about chescking or setting the fork spacing in the manual?????

GL1200 - low speed jello connection from grips to the front wheel

The only other 'Oldwing rider I know has exactly the same issue on his bike - that's why we met through here! I can actually feel the issue stopped if I jiggle the bars left and right several times - it is like the wheel lags behind the bars a bit and when I stop jiggling the bars the wheel...
