Got the mix screw 3 turns open but I thought that only applies to the idle circuit

set the accelerator pump to minimum stroke and its still bogs down unless i just barely advance the throttle, over Thanksgiving weekend Im gonna disconnect the accel pump and see what happens.

Dialed back the pump stroke to about 25% was set at 50. Still bogs down a bit when I hit the throttle. Gonna set it to minimum stroke and see what happens

Ok got the 125 jet and installed. Mileage is running about 32-33 mpg. Throttling still sluggish. May do Dan's suggestion and disconnect the accelerator pump and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't I have the rebuild kit for the Holley and will reinstall it with the CI manifold. I did...

Ordered up a 125 jet still want to play with the accelerator pump, just don't have the time right now for tweaking and testing so I'm just gonna do the jet upsize for now and hope that takes care of the uphill problems

May need to adjust my accelerator pump on the uphill accel if I crank the throttle then bring it back the bike will take off

OK I've had the 122 jet in for a couple of days, put a couple hundred miles on, and I'm getting about 34mpg. Still a bit sluggish on uphill acceleration though, may bump the jet size up to 124

Well so far so good did a couple uphill starts on the way to the ferry with no stutter, once I get off on the other side I can open it up on the highway and see how it goes.

Ok 122 is in if that don't work it's somewhere between that and 127

Ok got my jets on Friday put in the 112 couldn't get above 45 mph, pulled that put in the 120, much much better but acceleration lags past 60 and hills it drops off and hard to maintain speed, so gonna try to put the 122 in during my lunch break and see how it goes on my trip home

OK got a 112.5, a 120 and a 122.5 on order, should give me a good starting point

used the calipers at work to measure the tip cleaner and it came out to 1.25mm. So allowing for play its probably the 127.5. So what size should I drop it to?

Well I found a 1 on the jet rest was obscured. However sizing with a welding tip cleaner( assuming smaller # means bigger cleaner it was a size 8 (or 22 if its vice versa) just need to convert that to an actual measurement and translate into a jet size

will pull the main jet when i get home tonight and check the size and see if it was altered like the idle jet was

Yeah I let myself get fixated on the idle jet. Will get the bike idling good again and then look at adjusting the main jet. :doh: :thanks:

Well I still have the Holley and the CI manifold, just got the rebuild kit for the Holley so I might see if the Holley will play after a rebuild. At least I have a back up bike so I can commute on it while I tinker with the Goldwing.

Well got the jets in finally! put the 40 in had problems with power, wouldnt go uphill at low speed without stalling so widened it a little with a welding tip cleaner it runs ok now but mileage still sucks. There are differences between the jets the new ones have bigger holes on the sides and...

jets finally in the same state as me now just has to get to my house

Still waiting on the jets, 4 days from Italy to New York, 6 days to get from New York to Pennsylvania.
