    Can GL cylinders be resleeved?

back in the day i worked in a machine shop that specialized in high performance 2 strokes and routinely sleeved the cylinders. we normally sourced them from LA Sleeve ( https://www.lasleeve.com/ ). not sure if the have one but the gl100 would be a challenge to sleeve as the cylinder is...

    GL1200 Engine Rebuild

I would have a close look at #1 connecting rod. The wear pattern on the bearing suggests that it may not be straight.

    Starter Clutch

Glad to hear you found the problem. By any chance did you find the broken off piece of the pin ??? I wouldnt want that to get pulled into a pump or transmission gears !

    Starter Clutch

I concur with joedrum. the alignment pin is not in place. refering to one of your prior post there is a picture which you state the motor is at T1. assuming this is true the rotor lug should only be about 10 degrees past one of the PG lugs. you can always just drop the swing arm instead of...

    Low RPM hisitation

Hi Skiri251, Good to hear that you got it fixed !!! And you did not have to go that far into the carb.. Bonus ! Now its time to go for a ride. Im glad that Dan posted that link. Lots of good information I did not know was here on the site. I wonder what other treasures are buried here :)

    Low RPM hisitation

I would like to propose a hypothesis that the hesitation is caused by an over rich condition. Assumption 1.. The bike ran fine before the prolonged sitting event. Assumption 2... The bike idles fine and runs strong above 3k. And this over rich condition could be caused by a stuck power valve...

    Low RPM hisitation

You are right about the heat. I do not remember it ever being this hot in July out here. When it does cool down and you get back to the bike give me a shout if you want a second set of eyes to look at it. I am just a stones throw away in Long Beach and would be happy to help.

I found something in my oil

it looks like the tabs on the neutral switch are metal. so that rules out #6. https://goldwingdocs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27947 if you still have the piece of plastic you should have it checked out to see if it was female, because it may have laid its eggs inside your engine...

    Wanted 81 rear caliper

I have always found the bleeder thread size is much smaller than zerk (grease) fittings (except for some trucks). For brakes with banjo fittings I have made adapters that mimic the banjo (same thickness and hole size) and have a zerk fitting installed perpendicular to the banjo bolt (see...

    Wanted 81 rear caliper

Sorry I do not have a caliper but would like to suggest making an adapter so you can use a grease gun to pressurize the caliper you have and pump the piston out. This is the method we used in the shop and cannot remember not being able to get a piston out.

    Snapped bolt on Clutch Cover

In dealing with aircraft repair many times a hole would need to be duplicated on center with respect to an existing hole in another part for that we would use what we called handle bushings. The OD would fit the existing hole and it would have a hole for a smaller drill centered in the bushing...
